Participation House

The People We Support

PHSS supports individuals with significant physical and/or developmental disabilities. Participation House recognizes the special attributes of each individual and their unique characteristics. PHSS tailors the support offered to meet each individual's needs.

Many of the people we support have very complex needs, including people who are ventilator dependent. We have highly skilled and dedicated staff who are committed to our mission and vision and the provision of a safe, caring and enriching environment for those we support.

The goal of Participation House Support Services is to be a secondary support to individuals in conjunction with their families, friends and community. Participants are encouraged to be active decision-makers in determining the role they wish to play in their community. Individuals have the freedom to change their support options as required.

Profile

Thirty-three-year-old Bryan Thompson is just one of the over 100 individuals who rely on Participation House Support Services – London and Area. Bryan, who has Cerebral Palsy, has lived in his home supported by Participation House Support Services since 1991. It is the 24-hour care Bryan receives in this home that has helped him gain the independence needed to live an active life. When he's not busy volunteering or spending time with family or friends, Bryan is cheering on his favourite sports team.

Bryan is just one individual whose quality of life has been improved as a result of services offered by Participation House Support Services.
